I was raised in Susanville, CA, so growing up was snowy! However, I’ve pretty much been a bit guarded, when it comes to more adventureous “snowy” activities!!!!  My dad & his wife took my sister & I skiing when I was about twelve & let’s just say it wasn’t one of the best days of my life!! Since then, I’ve never attempted putting ski’s back on!!!!

Recently we celebrated a sweet friend of our’s, Elliana’s, birthday up at Eskimo Hill. It was a wonderful day. Forever to be remembered, but for me, scary. There was no way on earth I was going to sled down that hill. I even hiked up the hill, just to take a look down to see if I could do it… No way– instant fear!!!

A few weeks went by & just thinking about “fear” and what holds me back, I made a list of some things that I want to overcome. One of them–can you guess–sledding down Eskimo Hill??  Well, that is one, but first I am going to SKI! Yes, tomorrow I am going to attempt skiing again, after twenty-one years I am going to put ski’s on, and FACE my fears!!!! I will make sure to take a few pictures of this epic moment!!!!

Here are a few amazing moments from our snow day at Eskimo Hill!!!

All collages made with MCP ACTIONS amazing BLOG IT BOARDS!!!!!

. P I N K. {Kaiya Eve Pettiskirts}

People often ask me if I ever get tired of photographing little girls in pettiskirts, particularly the P I N K one!  I smile, and think of the recation that I get to enjoy everytime I get to watch, as she puts on a pettiskirt for the first time, and I answer, “No! It’s one of my favorite times to photograph, because each time a pettiskirt is worn, she feels like a princess. She feels like she is in a magical land & has sparkles all over! The biggest smile ever comes along, and twinkles are in her eyes!!!! I sometimes tear up because it is so precious!!!!!! So,  bring on the pettiskirts! They are magic!

If your little girl has never worn a pettiskirt, give me a call, let’s book her Kaiya Eve Pettiskirt Session TODAY!!!!!!

So enjoyed this little “mini” session with Ruby & Grady! They were absolutely the most adorable kids! Grady named this little pink car “Hudson” for me!!!!! He thought it was pretty cool to get to drive his sister around in it!!! Yeah for the AHHHHHHHH moments in our lives!!!

I am excited to say I am getting more & more caught up everyday!!!! With all of the set backs over the last four months it has felt like I would never get my head up above water!!!! Slowly but surely all is getting done!!! My wedding clients have been beyond patient & understanding! Thanks to each of you! Your love & support has meant so much!!!!!!

So excited to show off this wedding! Thank you, Toledo’s, for the referral! I felt incredibly honored to capture this celebration! I had a blast with my sister, who was my second shooter–thanks Riann–you are amazing!!! It was down in Temecula, CA, on an October day, catered by La Bettola, and created/designed by the Taylors & all of their friends. Everything about this wedding was incredible, however, the tiramisu, was even beyond incredible!!!! It was out of this world!! Ohhhhhh man!!!!

Thank you, Jonathan & Jessica, for the honor of capturing your wedding. It was simply amazing!!!!!

.spring is in the air. {Redding, CA Child Photographer}

I can feel Spring!! Although a little cold still, it is in the air. The trees are blossoming everywhere & are absolutely beautiful!! My sweet friend, Mandye, has a row of beautiful trees as you drive up to her house, and they are all in FULL bloom! It’s like a scene from Anne of Green Gables!! I came by today, do shoot a “mini” session of her sweet Madellena!!!!!

.ingamae. {Redding, CA Portrait Photographer}

I belong to an on-line community called, BeenUp2. It is a super fun place. You post pictures throughout your day of, “what you’ve BeenUp2,” and people comment, etc. It’s fun. I met Ingamae on Beenup2 about two years ago. She was coming up to Redding for a conference, and posted on BeenUp2 that she needed a place to stay! I was on-line when she made the comment, and invited her to stay with us! It was magical meeting Ingamae! She was as joyful & happy as she seemed on-line, and our family welcomed her right away!

About a year ago, or so, Inga moved to Redding! We have so loved getting to know her more! She has been such an encourager to my life & to my family’s life! She has been a cheerleader, cheering us on! She has been a, “go to church tonight,” I’ll watch the kids friend! She has been a chips & hummus friend! A show up at my doorstep with a Refresh Misto Latte friend! I love you, Inga! Thanks for being who you are, for loving people, and for giving so much joy, hope, love to everyone that you meet!!! You are a treasure!!!!

She hung out with us today, & as we were outside chatting,  I knew I had to capture my Ingamae. The light was magically covering her– it was a perfect moment for some pics!!!!

–be careful– she might just be taking a picture of Y-O-U!

.avagail. {Redding, CA Photographer}

If feels like I am always saying..”the most amazing thing about being a photographer is….”, honestly, though, it’s amazing doing what you love!!!! Anyways—One of the things that I love about my job is the connections that I have made through photography. I have been doing the “Watch Me Grow” package with the Lynn family, and Avagail is now ONE! Crazy to believe that a little over a year ago I did their maternity pics, then newborn pics, six month pics, and now celebrating 12 month pictures!!!! Avagail is the sweetest little princess!! A doll to photograph!! I always look forward to their sessions. We thought today might get rained out, but luckily the clouds cleared out, and we had a beautiful session!!!

Thank you, Tya & Collin, for the honor of capturing your family!!!! I look forward to many more photoshoots!!! Hugs!!!!

.new props. {Redding, CA Photographer}

One of the most exciting things about being a photographer is finding new locations & new props. I get sooo excited when I find something new!!!! I am in love with vintage lately, sooo definately get really excited when I have a good “vintage find.”  My amazing friend, Sea Jay, was telling me about this really cool umbrella that she saw in a new store here in Redding, Finder’s Keepers, and that I “needed” it!  I knew I had to go check it out!!! Yes, friends, it was worth checking out! Here it is..my latest & greatest, amazing, prop!

.celebrate you. {Redding, CA Photographer}

I was so excited to capture Sope {So-phie}! She scheduled the shoot as a celebration! Just to celebrate her, celebrate her life, her transition!!! We had an amazing time together! Her smile, absolutley the sweetest, and her eyes just sparkle so beautifully!!! Thank you, Sope, for the honor of capturing your beauty!!!!!

.sweetest love is… {Redding, CA Engagement Photographer}

…changing your flight around, so that you will be in the same terminal of an airport, to cross paths, with the one you love, for just one hour!!!!

I teared up after hearing this incredibly sweet story that David changed his flight, just so that he would be able to see Mary for one hour, while she waited for her connecting flight!!!! Soooo sweet their love is!!!!!!! Thank you for letting me take your engagment photos!!! Happy wedding planning!!!!

the window was a bit dirty, but the reflection was so beautiful– I fell in love with this shot—
