I knew ONE day my kids would ASK me to take their pics, instead of ME asking them to take their pics!!!! I was so happy when Madison asked me to take some pics of her. A good reason to get out of the house & just connect… Her & I! It was a special shoot!! Honestly, it had been a hot minute since I’d taken pics, so I was so happy to take pics of my girl!!! & just “enjoy” the moments of being with her & ultimately get her to “show her happy…” There have many tears being quarantined as a 17 year old with EXTREME parenting & pretty much no “social life…” & let me just tell you, Madison is a social girl! So this has been tough!! I’m so proud of her, though!! She’s making the best of it!! & definitely ready for social distancing to lift!!!!
I love you Madi Girl. Thank you for having me take your pictures! So proud of you!
AN INTERVIEW WITH MADISON:::::::
My fun tip is to sit on your phone!!! My parents do not like this but it passes the time!!! Just kidding! My best advice for quarantine is to make the most of what you have and what you are doing. I’ve worked out more, made new meals, tanned, and done lots of homework haha! I’ve enjoyed having lots of free time!
My favorite song that’s helping me get through this time is All By Myself by Celine Dion. This really resonates with my circumstances because a boy ended stuff with me and I can’t see my friends. JUST KIDDING!! We can’t have that mentality! My sister and I have been JAMMING to The Winner Takes It All by ABBA! Even in challenging times, we can still be WINNING! We will beat the obstacles we face!
Quarantine in itself is a memory LOL…but something I will always remember is cuddling up with my dad every night around 8 and watching at least two episodes of our favorite show Lost. If you haven’t watched it already, I totally recommend it. I will also always remember playing corn hole after dinner with the family. My parents always beat my sister and I, but we are getting better haha!
A new recipe I’ve tried myself during quarantine is just heating up kale in a pan with a little olive oil, pepper, and garlic salt. This makes kale 100 times better! Meals have been one of my favorite parts of quarantine! My mommy dearest has made so many awesome dinners! We’ve had fish tacos, homemade pizzas, burgers, fun salads, steak, baked potatoes, nachos, and so much more! My mom has killed the food game!
Quarantine has been hard don’t get me wrong, but I am learning to make the most of it. I could sit in my room all day, have a terrible attitude, and not include myself in family activities, but what good does that do?! Enjoying what we have and can do is so important. I also have gained the most valuable parenting tip (for when I get married and have kids haha) If my kids ever tell me they’re bored i’ll tell them, you’re not bored, you didn’t live through quarantine.
If you take anything out it will be lame. People will love my responses so don’t change it!! (don’t worry, I didn’t take anything out.. LOL)
